Flag a Carrier Bid as Intent to Award

Overview

After one or several carriers have submitted their offers (bid/costs) via URL, e-mail, or phone, the bid requests received need to be flagged as Intent to Award in the QuoteConnect Expedite dashboard to signal to the carrier that we intend to use their services if the customer approves the quote.

Prerequisites

Before you can Flag a Bid Request as Intent to Award for an expedite through the QuoteConnect Expedite dashboard, you must have created and send a Spot Quote out for bid to carriers. See Send a Spot Quote Out for Bid for details.

Process

To Accept a Carrier Bid for an Expedite:

  1. Access the Expedite dashboard. See QuoteConnect Expedite Dashboard for details.
  2. Click on the row containing the Spot Quote ID that you want to Flag as Intent to Award. (Don't click the Quote ID column, as this will open the Spot Quote Request Entry window.)

The Manage Bid window opens.

  1. Click the + icon next to the Bid Request ID that contains the carrier Bid Response you want to Flag as Intent to Award. A list of carriers who the bid was sent to opens.
  2. Click the Note icon next to the Bid Response you want to Flag as Intent to Award.

A pop-up window opens.

  1. Make sure Intent to Award is selected. The button will be blue if it is selected.
  2. Enter an acceptance message with a minimum of 5 characters in the Notes field. Other notes can be added as well. This message is internal, but the message displayed in this example is what the carrier will see in the email notifying them that we may use their bid.
  3. Click Save.

The pop-up window will close and return to the Manage Bid screen. The flag icon will turn green to indicate that the Bid Response has been flagged as Intent to Award for that carrier.

Result

The Intent to Award notification will go to the carrier, and the status of the Spot Quote will be updated to Quote Complete.
