Assign a Load to a Location

Overview

The working Loads page gives users the ability to assign trailers to dock doors or yard spaces.

When Should I Assign a Load to a Location?

You should assign a load to a dock door or yard space (location) when a load arrives to your facility, if it is in the yard and ready to be placed on a dock, or if it is on a dock and ready to be moved to the yard.

Prerequisites

Before you can Assign a Load to a Location, you must:

  • Make sure the Arrival check call has been completed so the load will show on the Working loads page. See Complete a Check Call for details.
  • Access the Working Loads screen. See Working Loads for details.

Process

To Assign a Load to a Location:

  1. Access the Working Loads screen.
  2. Identify the load you want to assign to a location in the grid.
  3. Click Assign in the Facility Location column.

  1. Click Select Location.

  1. Type in and/or select the location you want to assign the load to from the list.

  1. Click Save to assign the load to the location or Cancel to cancel the assignment.

Result

The grid refreshes and the load is assigned to the selected dock door or yard space.
