Add or Edit EDI Entity Exceptions
Overview
Entities can be excluded from certain types of EDI communication based upon their role in the Customer Hierarchy. If an entity exists at more than one level of the Customer Hierarchy, it will only be excluded from communications where it fills the selected role. Entities can be excluded from:
- outbound Status Updates (check calls)
- outbound ASNs and PULs
- inbound ASN confirmation requirements
- inbound ASN acknowledgment requirements
Prerequisites
- The user must access the EDI Entity Exceptions window for the type of EDI communication from which the entity is to be excluded. See Configure EDI Status Updates or Configure EDI ASNs for details on accessing the EDI Entity Exceptions window.
Process
To Add EDI Entity Exceptions:
- Open the EDI Entity Exceptions window. See the links above under Prerequisites for details on accessing this window.
- Click Add New Record.
- Select the Entity Type of the entity to be excluded from EDI status updates.
- Search for and select the Entity to be excluded from EDI status updates.
- Click Update to save the record or Cancel to discard it.
- Click the X in the upper right corner to close the window.
To Edit an EDI Entity Exception:
- Open the EDI Entity Exceptions window. See the links above under Prerequisites for details on accessing this window.
- Click Edit on the line of the record to be changed.
- Change the Entity Type of the entity, if needed.
- Click Change to change the Entity, if needed.
- Click Update to save the changes or Cancel to discard them.
- Click the X in the upper right corner to close the window.
Result
The entity exceptions are recorded. The excluded entities will not receive EDI communications of the selected type.
