Reassign a Shipment to a New Load
Overview
When Should I Reassign a Shipment to a New Load?
This function can be used when initially assigning a shipment to a load, for freight consolidation, or in the event of service recovery.
Process
To Reassign a Shipment to a New Load:
- Hover over Planning.
- Click Dock Planning.
- Search for the shipment. See Search for Shipments.
- Select one or several shipments.
- As shipments are selected, the quantity, weight, and volume of the selected loads will be displayed below the Search button.
- Search for the load that the shipment should be reassigned to. See Search for Loads.
- Click the load.
- Click Reassign.
If the shipment is part of a free astray split, a confirmation window opens. See Split a Shipment for more details.
- Select Yes to continue without loading the entire shipment if necessary.
- Select No to return to Dock Planning if necessary.
Result
The shipment is reassigned to the new load. Shipments with Load Order reference values have the reference updated to show the proper load order from largest shipment to smallest. If the load that the shipment was moved from was a single shipment load, that load's status will update to Voided and the load will move to Load History.
