Create a Crossdock Shipment

Overview

Crossdock shipments can be created in Optimiz without assigning them to a load. Such loads can be created directly in the Document Check in Require page. Shipments without loads will not be transported until a carrier or dock planner adds them to a load. Shipments created using the create crossdock feature should have their Service Type set to Cross Dock, and their Consolidation and Processing Hubs should both be the center creating them.

Prerequisites

Before creating a crossdock shipment, you must:

• Scan and upload all related paperwork received from the carrier.
• Verify that no shipment matching the scanned paperwork already exists in Optimiz.

Process

 To Create a Crossdock Shipment:

1. Select the image(s) in the queue that you want to create a shipment for.
2. Click Cross Dock.

The crossdock shipment page opens. See Create a Crossdock Shipment for more details. When complete, write the shipment ID of the created shipment on the hard copy of the bill of lading.
